Hairscrub from Sephora?

If you are following me on Instagram, you probably saw when I went to Sephora the other day and this little guy caught my eye! I have never seen a hairscrub before so it’s safe to say that I was intrigued. I therefore asked on Instagram if you guys would be interested in me buying it and doing a review on it and a lot of you said yes! So I bought it and have been testing it out the past few weeks.

The scrub comes in this plastic container, weighs about a 100 grams and cost me 60 DKK. It contains sea salt that is supposed to scrub the scalp as well as peppermint that is supposed to clean it. The peppermint also makes the scrub smell fantastic if you are into that kind of smell!

The hairscrub is supposed to rid the scalp and hair of dirt and dead skin cells and you are supposed to use it once a week instead of shampoo. When I use it I take a little in the palm of my hand (more than is pictured) and place it on top of my wet head. Then I start pressing the salt in between the strands of my hair so it reaches the scalp. Fair warning, about 80% of the salt is going to fall straight to the shower bottom but a few flakes will cling to the hair so you can use those to rub the scalp with.

I have very fine fair and it gets dirty real quick and especially here in Denmark, where I live, where the water is so rich with calcium. The calcium tends to stick to your hair leaving it matt and lifeless. For the past few years I have been Chelating my hair once in a while and it has made a huge difference as to how my hair looks. You can see my Chelate method here. Seeing as Chelating is quite the project I am super happy to say that this scrub is the closest thing I have found to actual Chelating and achieving the same results! I use it once a week and it makes my hair feel so light and fresh, just like it feels after a Chelating session. If you want to try the scrub at home for yourself then it does contain a lot of salt which can dry out your hair, so just remember to use a deep conditioner for your ends afterwards. That way you won’t loose your hairs moisture.

So a hairscrub is actually kind of awsome – who would have guessed! I at least recommend it, would you want to try it yourself?
